Vitaliy Klitchko, leader of the eponymous faction in the Kyiv City Council, claims he understands the behavior of Interior Minister Yuri Lutsenko, who fought with Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetskiy. At the same time, he stressed he does not consider such strong-arm methods to be acceptable in politics.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he claimed this to a press conference in UNIAN today.

“I have always been opposed to strong-arm methods in politics”, V.Klitchko said. At the same time, he disclosed that he thought for several tens of times to “follow the way of Yuri Lutsenko”.

“But, I understand that this deed will not help to solve the situation in Kyiv”, he said, adding: “But I understand him as a man”.

“I’m firmly convinced that Kyiv needs another Mayor. The Mayor, who they will be afraid to touch”, he stressed.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on 18 January, after a session of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Interior Minister Yuri Lutsenko and Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetskiy waged a fight.
