Interior Minister Yuri Lutsenko is about to dismiss the subdivision of Kobra Traffic Police.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, the Minister said this at the news conference in Dnipropetrovsk today.
“I think the current existence of Kobra is unreasonable. I have a lot of questions to the work of this special subdivision”, noted Y. Lutsenko.
According to his words, the famous incident with Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk at the road became one of the reasons of dismissing of Kobra.
The Minister underlined that he has data of the official investigation concerning involvement of Kobra’s employees in driving stolen cars.
Y. Lutsenko noted that the status, which Kobra special subdivision has, is not necessary in service. The Minister also noted that the special battalion of the Traffic Police, instead of Kobra special subdivision, will be created. It will protect high officials of the country.
Y. Lutsenko said that deputy chairman of Kobra, lieutenant colonel Kozha and the two employees of the special subdivision, who stopped the automobile of Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada A. Yatsenyuk, were dismissed by the order of the Interior Ministry for discredit of the service.
