Ukraine may regain control of Novoazovsk
Talks are under way to bring the town of Novoazovsk back under the control of the Ukrainian government, Anton Heraschenko, an advisor to the Interior Minister, said at a press conference in Mariupol on Wednesday.
The government is currently trying to reach agreement with the insurgents on where the boundaries of the territories controlled by the Luhansk and Donetsk Peoples’ Republics should be located, he said.
“They are deciding to whom the towns of Novoazovk and Telmanovo should belong,” Heraschenko said.
Heraschenko also said that terrorists did not want to establish a presence in the area of Novoazovsk.
“There are Russian troops in that area, although under agreements that have been reached they were supposed to leave Ukraine,” he said.
