In an interview with the Pogranizhnaya Zona project authored by Yegor Kuroptev, U.S. Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, James Gilmore, spoke about Russian incursions in Georgia and Ukraine, addressing the issues of the so-called South Ossetia, as well as Crimea and Donbas.

The ambassador told about the OSCE's role in Ukraine and noted human rights violations in the Russian-occupied territories, including persecution of Crimean Tatars in the annexed peninsula and forced draft of local men to the Russian army in breach of the Geneva Convention.

The diplomat also recalled of international sanctions imposed as a result of Russian aggression.
