Reptyukh's first ever Olympic gold medal was earned in one of the toughest cross-country distances and required the athlete to push through the strain.

"20 kilometres is a long race. In this time everything happens to you. First there is elation, then tiredness, then your body screams, 'I can't'. You go through all the stages," he said.

It was the second medal of PyeongChang 2018 for Daviet, with the athlete continuing France's strong form at the Paralympics.
