Biryukov said the defensive structures built in the future are unlikely be technologically advanced, with most of them having a primitive design and limited functionality.

The prime minister has proposed to name the future wall on the border with Russia the “European Bulwark.” According to him, implementation of this project will facilitate the  introduction of a visa-free regime between Ukraine and the European Union.

According to the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Ostap Semerak, Ukraine has already spent UAH 7 million on Wall project on the border with Russia.

According to the State Border Service, the project does not envisage the construction of a "wall" in the traditional sense, but rather an engineering structure along the border of the territories controlled by the Ukrainian forces.

Such facilities include anti-tank ditches to obstruct the movement of troops and military hardware, the construction of fortifications for the physical protection of borders, and hidden hazards and traps.
