UEFA: Football clubs from Crimea banned from playing in Russian league (Video)
UEFA Secretary General Gianni Infantino announced on Thursday a ban on two former Ukrainian top-division clubs from Crimea playing in the Russian league because of Russia's annexation of the peninsula.
The UEFA decision to prohibit Crimean clubs from playing in competitions organized by the Russian Football Union as of January 1, 2015 ends all speculation on the issue, Ukraine Today informed.
Any football competitions held in Crimea without the organization’s content are also prohibited, according to Infantino.
