The Special Operations Forces were created in January 2016.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in his greetings on Facebook called them the elite of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In turn, Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak proudly boasted about professionals serving in the Special Operations Forces.
"I'm proud of the unique professionals who being motivated, consciously serve in the elite division of the Ukrainian army – the Special Operations Forces. You carry out important and dangerous tasks, courageously implementating operational plans, in particular in dangerous combat conditions. I am grateful for the results you have achieved. Everyone believes that there are no obstacles that the SOF servicemen could not overcome, and there is no enemy before whom they would shudder or retreat," he wrote on Facebook.
Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces Gen. Viktor Muzhenko also conveyed his sincere congratulations, saying that Ukraine should do everything possible to win.
"In the fight against the aggressor, Ukrainians own one secret weapon – we have no alternative but to win. We are fighting on our land, for our Ukraine, and the future of our descendants! We must do everything possible and impossible to win!" he wrote on Twitter.
У боротьбі з агресором українці володіють однією секретною зброєю – у нас немає альтернативи окрім перемоги.
