Mariupol checkpoint closed amid fears of terror attacks (Video)
Ukraine’s authorities have closed checkpoints around Mariupol in the latest of a series of moves that have also restricted transport links with Russian-occupied Crimea.
The government said it was taking the action in response to terrorist attacks that have recently occurred in various regions of Ukraine, Ukraine Today reports.
The strategic city of Mariupol, which is still controlled by Ukrainian government forces, is seen by the government as a target for invasion if the Kremlin, using its proxy forces in the Donbas, attempts to create a land corridor to Crimea.
