Naftogaz pays Gazprom for supply of 1 bln cubic meters of gas in January

"Based on the preliminary price for Russian gas in January 2015, the volume of gas prepaid by Naftogaz Ukrainy amounts to about one billion cubic meters," the statement reads.

As noted in the Naftogaz statement, this volume was determined based on the prepayment in January 2015 and an unused advance for December 2014.

According to the statement, the gas volumes that have been paid for will be used by Naftogaz “in accordance with the needs of Ukrainian consumers.”
