Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova says the coordinator of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine, Ambassador Toni Frisch, was unable to visit all those convicted by occupation authorities in Donbas indicated in the list submitted by the Ukrainian side.

"We discussed the outcome of his visits to prisoners in the east of Ukraine. He said he was unable to visit all prisoners who were in the list submitted by the Ukrainian side," Denisova wrote on Facebook following a working meeting with the OSCE coordinator.

"At the same time, the occupation authorities of the so-called 'LPR' and 'DPR' asked Toni Frisch to visit the prisoners who held in custody in Ukraine, giving him a list of these persons. We agreed that as soon as I look into that list, my office will verify the location of each person," Denisova said.

"We discussed the exchange of prisoners detained in the so-called 'LPR' and 'DPR' who had been convicted before Russia launched the armed conflict," the ombudsman said.

According to Denisova, her office on a daily basis "processes applications from Ukrainians who are ready to serve their time in the Ukraine-controlled territory."

"We have all the documents necessary for the exchange, while the Russian side is blocking the process," she said.
