Ukrainian students call on Russian youths to question state media (Video)

16:43, 29 January 2015

Students from several Kyiv universities have released a video statement calling on Russian students to be more critical of Russian media coverage of events in Ukraine.

The key messages include a point that there is an ongoing war, as Ukrainian and Russian troops and also civilians are killed in the east of Ukraine, Ukraine Today reports.

They also say deep misunderstandings between the two nations are caused by tales about Nazis and Ukrainian nationalists promoted by Russian propaganda. Students call on Russians to stop blaming the West for their own mistakes.

Most state-backed Russian media have been distorting information about Ukraine since the pro-European protests began there in 2013.
