"We will not declare an epidemic. This is only a word, having no significant impact. In fact, it is more important to expand opportunities for a bigger vaccination campaign, access to vaccines," Acting Health Minister Ulana Suprun told journalists after a government meeting on Wednesday, an UNIAN correspondent reported.
Suprun has urged citizens to vaccinate against measles.
The Health Ministry earlier reported that five people had already died of measles in Ukraine in 2019. Sixteen people died of measles in 2018.
Measles is a highly contagious infectious disease caused by the measles virus.
