Easter celebrations from home should curb COVID-19 spread in Ukraine – health minister
Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov says Easter celebrations from home on April 19 should curb the spread of the novel coronavirus in Ukraine.
"Once again, I'd like to emphasize, appealing to the Ukrainians, that it is very important for us to celebrate Easter at home, online, since in our opinion this will stop the spread of this disease in Ukraine," the minister said at an online briefing, according to a UNIAN correspondent.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Western Rite Christians celebrated Easter on April 12, while Eastern Rite Christians will celebrate it on April 19.
In turn, the president of Ukraine and the health minister have repeatedly called on Ukrainians to stay at home for Easter and to comply with quarantine measures during the holidays over the coronavirus pandemic.
