Ukraine`s PM answers questions of PACE members
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko convinces Europe may stay calm about Russian natural gas supplies to European countries through the territory of Ukraine.
According to the government’s press-office, she claimed this answering questions of Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe members in Strasbourg pertaining to whether Ukraine is ready to take on a part of risk for the possible failure of supplies of natural gas to Europe.
“Ukraine is ready to take responsibility for the Russian natural gas transit through its territory to Europe, and to take responsibility with all the accompanying constituents,” the Premier of Ukraine emphasized.
At the same time the Head of Government imparted that she is not prepared to take responsibility for the large-scale corruption in the system of supply of Ukraine with natural gas.
Simultaneously, Yulia Tymoshenko underlined that Ukrainian Government has made a series of steps aimed at ruining of corruption schemes in gas supply system and called it one of the weightiest achievements of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. “It appears an additional guarantee for the Europe to feel absolute tranquility being in the system of transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine,” Prime Minister voiced.
