President Victor Yushchenko wrote a letter today to Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, according to the President`s press-office.

In his letter President drew Prime Minister’s attention to situation with the aerobatic demonstration team the Ukrainian Falcons. “I believe that disbanding aerobatic team the Ukrainian Falcons [at the moment] did not correspond with national interests”, said Victor Yushchenko in his letter substantiating his position by the fact that before 2004 the pilots of the team made numerous successful performances abroad, thus “winning international prestige for Ukraine, pushing forward development of aircraft construction industry, improving image of military pilot profession”, etc.

Reminding that State program of Ukrainian Military development for 2006-2011 does not foresee restoration of the Ukrainian Falcons President Yushchenko wrote: “I suggest that the Cabinet of Ministers works out in a three months term a program of restoration of aerobatic team the Ukrainian Falcons.” The financing of the procedure, according to him, should be provided by a separate budgetary program and to be included in changes to 2008 budget as well as in 2009 budget.
