Police searching for 926 missing Donbas residents
Police are searching for 926 residents of Donetsk region, who have gone missing during the period of armed confrontation in the area, the press service of Donetsk regional directorate of the Interior Ministry reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, a total of 1,381 people have been put on the missing list since the beginning of the ATO in Donetsk region, with whereabouts of 455 of them already established. The search for the rest of 926 people is continuing.
As of August 5, there are 564 missing and 362 abducted individuals registered by regional police.
It is well established that 204 people were abducted by illegal armed groups from the Donetsk People’s Republic militant organization. The circumstances of disappearance of another 158 people are being verified.
The police opened criminal proceedings under Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal imprisonment or abduction) into all the cases of abduction.
