OSCE: "Misbehaving" Russian observer dismissed from Ukraine mission
The Russian OSCE Special Monitoring Mission member in east Ukraine was secretly filmed drunk and confessing being a GRU member, before later being caught spreading anti-Ukrainian rhetoric to local residents in the conflict zone.
"The SMM mandate… requires monitors with some military background and others, in peacekeeping experience. However, the responsibility of identifying qualified candidates lies with OSCE participating states,” Alexander Hug, deputy chief monitor of OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, said at a Thursday briefing, Ukraine Today reports.
