In 2008/09 season, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine forecasts grain export from Ukraine at the level of 13.5 mln tonnes, including wheat - 8.7 mln tonnes, according to the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Yaroslav Gadsalo, according to APK-Inform.
Y. Gadsalo noted that taking into account current weather conditions and sowing areas under grain crops, Ukraine may harvest 40 mln tonnes of grain.
This year the Ukrainian wheat yield would total 19.113 mln tonnes, barley- 8.979 mln tonns, maize for grain - 9.085 mln tonnes, rye- 0.932 mln tonnes and other grain crops -1.9 mln tonnes, according to the estimates of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
The Ministry`s experts consider, that taking into account the carry-over stocks, the total grain offer in 2008/09 season would be at the level of 46 mln tonnes. It is supposed that 7.2 mln tonnes of grain would be used for food consumption, 14.3 mln tonnes- used as forage.
The annual grain transshipment possibilities of Ukraine totals 26 mls tonnes.
