Acting head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine Andriy Portnov, who was appointed by the government, turned with a letter to Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko, asking her to choose another BYuT candidacy for the post of the acting SPFU head.
A.Portnov claimed this speaking at TV 5 Kanal television Monday evening.
According to him, his request is based upon the situation that occurred after he was appointed by the government as the acting State Property Fund head.
A.Portnov emphasized he does not want to crawl on his belly before President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on Monday Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko called Andry Portnov the worthy candidate for the SPFU head, and stressed she had no intent to replace him.
On Monday, May 19, the Prosecutor’s General Office of Ukraine brought a criminal case against acting State Property Fund head Andriy Portnov. The Prosecutor’s General Office probed into the legality of A.Portnov’s actions, and found traces of misuse of office, which destabilized the work of the State Property Fund. Basing on the results of the inspection, PGO brought a criminal case against A.Portnov, accusing him of attempting illegal privatization, and basing on Part 1 Article 233 and Part 2 Article 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
