Militant voluntarily quits terrorist organization, surrenders to SBU
On November 18, a fighter of the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) terrorist organization voluntarily left the unit and surrendered himself to the SBU Security Service of Ukraine, the SBU's press service told an UNIAN correspondent.
The SBU has launched a program, titled "Waiting for You at Home," for such cases and has been implementing it successfully, the SBU press service told UNIAN.
The militant who voluntarily resigned from the militant organization's ranks returned to the Ukraine-controlled territory and gave himself up to law enforcement agencies.
It was established that the former militant served at a logistics department in the militant-controlled city of Luhansk and was not directly involved in hostilities.
Under the Ukrainian laws, he may be released from criminal liability after a respective investigation and checks.
