At the meeting of National Security and Defense Council President Victor Yushchenko informed that he is about to interpose a veto on the law №2481 passed by the Verkhovna Rada on May 23, 2008, and altering some legislative acts, including the Land Code of Ukraine, according to the President`s press-office. 

Stressing that the law itself is very important, as it aims to provide additional funds for the budget, Victor Yushchenko however said that this overall well-thought out document contains hidden threats for citizens when it comes to land sale. Canceling moratorium on land sale, the law, according to President does not guarantee proper rights protection to simple citizens.

President has already held consultations on the issue with the Prime Minister yesterday and said that hi is glad that the have reached consensus. So when proper changes, guaranteeing the rights of all parties at the land market, are made to the law, he will sign it immediately, promised Victor Yushchenko.
