President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko is concerned about the irresponsibility of the Cabinet of Ministers in the sphere of elaborating the State Strategy of Coal Sphere Development to prevent accidents at mines.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, President’s Press Secretary Iryna Vannikova claimed this to a press conference in Kyiv today.
Besides, the President of Ukraine calls on the government to take all measures, to apply all financial and technical resources, in order to rescue miners at the Karl Marx mine, where the blast took place on June 8.
In the opinion of the President, “all the main problems of the coal branch, which have not been solved for years, have reflected in the accident”.
I.Vannikova recalled that Victor Yushchenko had many times stressed that the government must have adopted the program of the coal branch development.
“However, the President is concerned about the irresponsible position of the Cabinet of Ministers on this issue, because the state of the coal branch has been deteriorating, the profession of miner becomes mortally dangerous, and there is still no State Strategy of the Coal Industry Development”, the President’s Press Secretary noted.
I.Vannikova informed that the President sent a letter to the Prime Minister, informed about his position.
The President commissioned the government to inform him about its work in a week since June 8.
