The new Ambassador of Ukraine to RF outlines his tasks
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Russia Kostyantyn Hryshchenko stresses that talks about Ukraine’s joining the NATO Memebrship Action Plan must be carried out not in Russia but in Brussels.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, new Ukraine’s Ambassador to RF Kostyantyn Hryshchenko claimed this to a news conference today.
The Ambassador stressed that Ukraine can only consult with Russia and persuade it that no actions of Ukraine will be aimed against Russia.
At the same time, he stressed that he understands it will not be easy to achieve.
K.Hryshchenko stressed it is necessary to hold a dialog with Russia and to change the tone of this dialog. “We should find an opportunity not to exchange accusations through mass media, but our leaders should have time and desire to meet and hold a dialog, which will allow to understand the logics of the partners”, K.Hryshchenko stressed.
According to the Ambassador, he also sees his task in “reducing the field of discrepancies and broadening the field of collaboration”.
