Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko announces that despite non-adoption by the Parliament amendments to the law on the State Budget of Ukraine for 2008 the Government will find a mechanism to allot additional financing, in particular, to raise pensions and other social payments. According to the government’s press-office, she told at a press conference on the outcomes of the Govt’s sitting. “We are thoroughly studying a legal constituent of such possible steps of the Government and everything which can be done will definitely be done,” PM assured.

At the same time Yulia Tymoshenko warned from illusions with regards to a possibility of additional financing of the social sphere in full without adopting by the Parliament amendments to the State Budget. “Some steps can be made by us but they are limited enough and will not solve problems in whole,” Premier of Ukraine added. She is convinced changes to the budget are pressing to be approved.

Yulia Tymoshenko informed BYuT faction in the Verkhovna Rada had already colected 150 signatures for a special parliamentary session. At this she stressed that for now it is an initiative of just one faction and in order to call a session a consensus around the wish to amend the budget is necessary.

Yulia Tymoshenko considers “the biggest problem of recent lies in the fact that people’s deputies have left for rest to seas, yachts, comfortable hotels, sanatoriums while Ukrainian citizens are left without addenda to the budget and without additional 32 bn hryvnyas. It is a tremendous stress for the state as the people have been looking for the funds,” the Head of Government underlined.

At this Yulia Tymoshenko assured that Government will seek to find the ways to enhance social payments until the deputies will have rested in full and returned from their vacations.
