Ukraine not to be invited to join NATO MAP in December – expert

Razumkov Center international programs director Valeriy Chaly believes Ukraine will not receive any invitation to join the NATO Membership Action Plan in December of the current year.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, asked whether Ukraine will get an invitation to join NATO MAP in December, the expert said: “No, it will not get any invitation”.

In the opinion of V.Chaly, the issue of Ukraine’s joining NATO is too politicized in Ukraine, in Europe, as well as in Russia. According to him, some “internal political positions” are even built upon this issue. At the same time, the expert stressed, one should understand that MAP does not guarantee that Ukraine will enter the Alliance.

V.Chaly believes that Ukraine may join NATO MAP next year.
