Gas issue is priority for Yanukovych’s government

Prime Minister of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych clams that the gas issue is one of the most serious and top-priority issues for his government. He said this today in Symferopol, meeting with economic chiefs of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, the Prime Minister noted that to solve the gas problem, Ukraine should maintain ties with the Russian Federation, which is one of the main gas suppliers to Ukraine. He recalled that on 15 August he leaves for Sochi to discuss the gas issue with Russian officials.
He is also confident that 24 billion cu m of gas will be pumped into Ukraine’s underground gas depots till mid-October.
