As of today, there is no bird flu in Ukraine. Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for agricultural-industrial complex Yuri Melnyk claimed this today at a meeting with journalists in the course of the international seminar for issues of the effective fighting and prophylactics of avian flu. According to an UNIAN correspondent, he disclosed that the bird flu was completely wiped out and the quarantine was removed from the settlements, where it was recorded. “As of today, there are no new pestholes of bird flu in Ukraine”, said he.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he disclosed that the bird flu was completely wiped out and the quarantine was removed from the settlements, where it was recorded. “As of today, there are no new pestholes of bird flu in Ukraine”, said he.

Chief of the State Veterinary Medicine Department of Ukraine Ivan Bisiuk stressed that, as of today, Ukraine is holding laboratory tests of vaccines, brought from China, Netherlands, and other countries. The tests will last for at least 60 days, after which specialists will make decisions, basing on the results of the tests. At the same time, I.Bisiuk noted that Ukraine is also working over creating its own vaccine against the bird flu.
