Sanitary epidemiologists of the Ivano-Frankivsk region do not rule out an anthrax outbreak at the flooded territories.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, deputy chief sanitary doctor of the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Maria Boyko claimed that doctors are rather afraid of an anthrax outbreak, because floods covered burial grounds for animals, where ill animals could have been buried.

M.Boyko also noted that at present the situation is under supervision: local residents were forbidden to drink water from wells and eat vegetables that grew at flooded territories. However, she emphasized, soon we will face the incubation after-flood period, during which people will probably fell ill with intestinal diseases. Doctors call on everybody to exercise vigilance.
