Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has called on President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko to cancel the military parade on the Ukrainian Independence Day due to the natural disaster in the Western Ukraine.
UNIAN was informed about this by a source from the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers.
“Today Yulia Tymoshenko sent letter to the President with a proposal to cancel his decree on carrying out a military parade due to the floods”, a source told the agency.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on June 20 President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko signed decree on celebration of the 17th anniversary of the Ukrainian Independence.
The decree stipulates a military parade of troops at the central square of Kyiv, Maydan Nezalezhnosti, on August 24.
