It is on your words – on what you say or not -- the lives may depend. A journalist is a litmus test for the whole society, they are its eyes and ears. Through your eyes we see the events of the day. The days go by, becoming history. The history you're writing," he said in a congratulatory message on the occasion of the Journalist Day.
Turchynov thanked journalists "for the daily work, for the fact that you're conscientiously performing your professional duty by sacrificing your weekends, your leisure time. This may sound a bit in a military manner, but you are also Ukrainian soldiers. Your weapon is your word. And it should defend Ukraine."
