Victor Yushchenko and Ukraine`s Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk have discussed preparations for the Fourth World Forum of Ukrainians, which will be held in Kyiv on August 18-20, according to the President’s press-office.
They also spoke about the President’s forthcoming visit to Azerbaijan and Viktor Yanukovych’s September visit to Brussels.
Then Mr. Yushchenko and Mr. Tarasyuk discussed preparations for another meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission, which will involve foreign ministers. The President reiterated that EU and NATO membership was Ukraine’s strategic goal. He is convinced the new government must spare no effort to pursue these political goals. Mr. Yushchenko urged the Foreign Ministry to actively and effectively cooperate with the Verkhovna Rada and particularly its foreign policy committees.
