President slams Government for delays in financing
Governors of six disaster-hit regions will report to Yushchenko
Speaking to journalists in Halych, Ivano-Frankivsk region, President Victor Yushchenko criticized the Government for delaying adoption of a plan of financing of reconstruction plan, according to the President`s press-office.
Particularly President pointed to problems with communication infrastructure reconstruction. According to him much less has been done in last three weeks as it had been previously expected.
According to him main problem here is that although 350 million hryvnyas had been reserved for restoration of roads, bridges and riverbanks strengthening, only 50 million were actually provided.
“There is a Law of Ukraine, demanding the Government to transfer these funds regularly”, - said Victor Yushchenko.
Beside that he informed that at the coming consultative meeting in Ivano-Frankivsk he would listen to reports by State Administrations Heads from six regions damaged by the storms on their needs in reconstruction process including on problems with financing.
