This winter a new type of influenza is expected to come in Ukraine. Professor Arkadiy Frolov, director of the Ukrainian Influenza Center, said this in an interview with Segodnya newspaper. The infection will be a combination of viral strains A – “Brisben 1”, “Brisben 2”, and “Florida”. Ukrainians have already encountered the last two viral strains, but Brisben 1 is a new kind of influenza for Ukraine.
“So far there is no information whether this type of virus will cause a serious disease”, the expert said, adding that when a new type of virus comes in the country, it’s hard to forecast scales of the future epidemic.
