Russia is ready to make Ukraine repay its gas debt to Russia through court if necessary, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev told Russian reporters on Monday, according to Itar-Tass.

“This will be some measures under the administrative law, administrative powers,” Medvedev elaborated on his statement to take administrative decisions if Ukraine does not repay its gas debt to Russia. “This is measures outlined by Gazprom as a gas supplier and the Russian government, this is administrative measures,” the Russian leader said.

“When I was speaking about legal measures I meant judicial measures within civil law relations, which exist between the companies – Gazprom and the gas consumer,” Medvedev said.
