The central bank promises to increase the hryvnia`s value in the nearest future. Central bank head Volodymyr Stelmakh claims that the Ukrainian national currency will return to the level of 6 hryvnias for 1 U.S. dollar but only if the population will return to banks 8 billion dollars of deposits. According to him, these are the money that were taken from banks.

The central bank has intent to carry out a more active policy at the inter-bank market to smooth the hryvnia devaluation. In particular, on Tuesday the hryvnia’s value vs the U.S. dollar made up 8.35 hryvnias at the inter-bank market. The hryvnia’s exchange rate vs the euro made 11.36-11.49 hryvnias. The central bank intervened the market and sold dollars at 7.66 hryvnias.
