Ukraine is ready to guarantee the transit of Russian gas to the European Union, a presidential aide said on Monday after Gazprom warned supplies could be disrupted over a debt dispute, Reuters reported.
"Ukraine is ready to give guarantees of uninterrupted gas supplies in 2009 to European gas consumers," said Oleksander Shlapak, chief economic aide to President Viktor Yushchenko.
