Government forecasts inflation of 9.5% for 2009

The Ukrainian government forecasts an inflation rate of 9.5% for 2009, Top Deputy Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksandr Turchynov said at a meeting of the Conciliatory Council in the Verkhovna Rada on Monday.

According to O.Turchynov, the hryvnia’s value vs the U.S. dollar is forecast at 7 - 7.5 hryvnias per $1 in 2009.

However, this data could be adjusted, because the Conciliatory Council meets before the government, he said.
