Man opens memorial plaque... to himself in Chernivtsi

A local resident has opened a memorial plaque devoted to himself at a multistoried building in Chernivtsi. The inscription on the plaque reads “Outstanding life insurance figure Ivan Ukrayintsev has been living in this house since 2007”.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, the marble plaque almost 50 kg by weight was dismantled by communal workers in several days after it was opened.

Hryhoriy Koshara, head of #3 Chernivtsi City Housing and Communal Enterprise, said to journalists that they had warned the plaque’s owner about illegality of his actions. “However, he did not dismantle it, despite indignation of his neighbors”, H.Koshara said.
