Ukraine is interested in joint with Poland modernization of gas pipeline systems and development of the system of gasholders on the territory of two countries for providing gas transit to the West, according to the press-office of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych stated during his joint press conference with Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland Jarosław Kaczyński.
The Ukrainian Premier stressed that Ukraine views its transit system as an integral part of all European energy market.
During the press conference Viktor Yanukovych named among the strategic directions of energy cooperation between Ukraine and Poland fulfillment of the repairing-construction work of the system of gasholders in the north of Poland and the system of gasholders which unite the Ukrainian and Polish systems.
“As regards the construction of the Odesa-Brody-Plock oil pipeline, this project should be developed”, Viktor Yanukovych noted.
Prime Minister is confident that the first necessary step for both sides is to start the work toward Odesa-Brody-Karlupy. “Solving this issue will inspire all the participants of the project”, Viktor Yanukovych underlined.
