Two Polish spies sentenced in Ukraine
To 4.5 years of imprisonment
Polish military spies were sentenced in the Volyn Oblast of Ukraine.
According to the SBU Volyn Oblast directorate’s press-service, on 7 April the military court of the Kyiv Garrison sentences Volyn residents, chief officer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleh Hryzhenko and his wife Liudmyla (contract military), to 4.5 years of imprisonment. Their spying activities for the sake of Poland were revealed and stopped.
During the operation, employees of the SBU counter-intelligence service intercepted a floppy disk with a secret information, which could have seriously hampered the defense capacity of Ukraine.
The couple was recruited by the Polish military reconnaissance. On its instruction, they transferred state secret and confidential information for a monetary remuneration.
