First Lady attends 1933 poster award ceremony
Held for ten years, the contest of posters was initiated by Morgan Williams
On November 29, Kateryna Yushchenko has attended a ceremony to present awards to winners of the contest of Holodomor posters, according to the President`s press-office.
In her speech, the First Lady thanked each contestant.
“We can now speak about that terrible tragedy. It is important that all Ukrainian citizens, not only artists and historians, know what the nation went through, light candles and pray for those people,” she said.
Following the event, Mrs. Yushchenko viewed an exhibition of the posters and spoke with students and professors of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture.
Held for ten years, the contest of posters was initiated by Morgan Williams (SigmaBleyzer) and sponsored by the Helen and Alex Woscom Foundation.
