President’s Chief of Staff’s remarks on budget
There must be no speculations about the budget
There has been too much speculation about the budget and the country’s other pressing problems recently, although there must be no such things, according to the President`s press-office.
The President’s position is explicitly clear and influenced neither by emotions expressed today by the coalition, nor by populist recommendations given by other political forces.
The President has reiterated that the budget must meet the needs of society. He proposed professional and realistic approaches to find extra funds. However, his proposals have not been given proper consideration.
The President asks [the Verkhovna Rada] to send the adopted budget to his Secretariat as soon as possible. A final decision will be made when this document is scrupulously analyzed.
