In 2006 over 80 charitable organizations and foundations created in Ukraine

During 2006 over 80 charitable organizations and foundations were created in Ukraine, 50 of which having international status and over 30 with all-Ukrainian status, according to Ukrinform. This is almost one tenth of all Maecenas organizations, having been registered by the justice bodies since 1991, the Justice Ministry press service told.

      According to Justice Minister Oleksandr Lavrynovych, these mainly were directed at charitable activities.

      Several Maecenas organizations stated their desire to promote development of the fuel and energy enterprises, stock market.
