Ukraine to develop its own missile system by 2011

Ukraine plans to develop its own missile system by the year 2011.

Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Land Force general lieutenant Valeriy Frolov claimed this after exercises in the Khmelnytska Oblast, according to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s press-service.

“We expect to get a modern missile system of a native production by the year 2011”, he said.

At the same time, V.Frolov added: “this will happen under condition of a sufficient and rhythmic financing”.

According to V.Frolov, the budget of the year 2007, for the first time during the last years, stipulates funding of the Armed Forces development.
