In Zaporizhya region Andriy Klyuyev visited Novobohdanivka arms depot aimed for the destruction of ammunition, according to the government’s press-office.
The works on ammunition utilization are carried out by the subdivisions of the Ministry of Emergencies of Zaporizhya, Rivne, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Luhansk regions, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Kyiv.
The destruction of ammunition is fulfilled by an open method within specially prepared areas which pose no hazard and minimize eventual emergencies within the territory of the depot.
The regional administrations of environment and sanitary-epidemic station are constantly monitoring the environment. According to the results of examination, the ecological situation is within the norm.
The Government has endorsed the Program on liquidation of consequences of emergencies at arms deposits of Novobohdanivka providing financing of works in 2007 totaling 7 million UAH. Andriy Klyuyev stressed that the funds would be received regularly and ammunition utilization would be completed by the end of the year.
