Govt should urgently resolve developing VAT rebate crisis

Victor Yushchenko has sent a letter to Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych with an urgent request to resolve the developing VAT rebate crisis, according to the President`s press-office.

The President suggests that the Premier and his government:

immediately formulate proposals aimed at making tax payers more responsible and law-abiding, and send their suggestions to the National Security and Defense Council;

propose a bill based on last year’s presidential decree to prevent and minimize national security threats caused by the country`s imperfect VAT rebate legislation;

find out who developed and introduced these ineffective VAT rebate rules and criteria.
