The management of enterprises, which workers are going to protest, confirmed information about massive cuts and its causes.

In particular, according to the president of the PC "ZFP" Pavel Kravchenko, Zaporozhye Ferroalloy Plant, in connection with the forced closure of two large workshops, is to cut off 1900 of 3400 workers.

"The main reason of this situation - transfer of Zaporozhye Ferroalloy Plants in 2011 from the 1st to the 2nd class of power consumption, which caused a significant increase in energy costs, which share in the cost of production has reached 42-47% (depending on the type of ferroalloys). It led to so significantly reduce of the products competitiveness , that following the results of the work for 5 months of 2011, we are forced to close workshops, "- said Kravchenko.

According to him, the company's management has repeatedly appealed to NCEMR, NSC “ECU”, the Ministry of Energy and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with a request to change the tariff, but the positive solution of the problem was not achieved.

"As a result we have to cut production and the state have to lose millions of hryvnia: because of the tariff increase, we substantially - more than 2.5 times - reduced energy consumption, and therefore for the 5 months of 2011 the state received for electricity less for 328 million UAH ", - stated Kravchenko.

According to the chairman of Zaporozhye regional committee of metallurgists and miners trade union of Ukraine V. Kozub, if and after such a large scale protest of workers state does not take to heart of government their legal requirements and doesn’t change its attitude towards enterprises of the most budget-filling industry, the union will organize a protest in Kiev .
