Deputy Secretariat Chief of Staff Viktor Bondar on Tuesday introduced Volodymyr Khomenko to the Chernihiv region’s officials, according to the President`s press-office.

Bondar said he would have to inventory all of the region`s investment projects, introduce President Victor Yushchenko’s social policies, build closer ties with business and ensure that early parliamentary elections are held in a fair and democratic manner.

He characterized Khomenko, who will be the region`s provisional governor, as an “experienced person who can make sure the Chernihiv region becomes an attractive and powerful region with great economic and tourist potential.”

Bondar then read out a presidential decree to dismiss the region’s former governor, Mykola Lavryk.
