The majority of political experts are convinced that Ukraine should join NATO.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, chief of “Democratic Initiatives” Fund Ilko Kucheriv claimed this, presenting the results of a respective poll, carried out by the fund.
“None of the polled experts said that Ukraine must not enter NATO”, said I.Kucheriv. He noted that the poll was conducted in November 2005, among 69 experts.
All of the experts said that the NATO membership would correspond to the national interests of Ukraine, as, under conditions of the insufficient financing Ukraine cannot guarantee a sufficient security level only with its own forces.
Besides, experts note that entering NATO will mean for Ukraine a choice of the European civilized way of development, as the NATO model most of all corresponds to the national interests of Ukraine.
